Since its founding in 1991, Zouk Singapore has consistently been regarded as a world-class nightlife establishment.
According to DJ Mag’s annual Top 100 Clubs poll, Zouk was ranked fifth in the world last year.
However, partygoers have not been able to visit the award-winning nightclub since end March, due to government restrictions to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Last month, Zouk Group was sold to Malaysian firm Tulipa for S$14 million. It was a move by Zouk’s cash-strapped parent company Genting Hong Kong (GHK) to generate liquidity.
Following the acquisition, Zouk has innovated to keep its doors open since clubbing is out of the picture.
From transforming its dance floor into a restaurant, to hosting spin classes and most recently, a pop-up cinema, the homegrown nightclub is definitely stepping up its game to remain relevant.
That’s not all. Zouk is also spreading its wings beyond Singapore and is going to Las Vegas.
From Singapore To Sin City
Zouk Group announced today (Nov 12) that it has partnered with Resorts World Las Vegas to build a US$4.3 billion (S$5.78) integrated resort in Las Vegas.
It is slated to open in the summer of next year, and marks the company’s first venture in the United States.
Located on the north end of the Strip, the casino-resort Resorts World Las Vegas will house two 66-storey hotel towers with a total of 3,500 rooms. It will also have a 5,000-seat theatre, 350,000 square feet of convention space and a 2.2-hectare pool complex.

Resorts World Las Vegas will also include four Zouk concepts: the quintessential Zouk Nightclub, AYU Dayclub, social gaming bar RedTail, as well as experiential dining venue FUHU that serves contemporary Asian cuisine.
These will be built on a 35.6-hectare site by Malaysian corporation Genting Berhad.
“The partnership between Zouk Group and Resorts World Las Vegas will bring entertainment and lifestyle brands together on a property destined to breathe new life into the Las Vegas market,” said Andrew Li, CEO of Zouk Group in a media statement.
“With over 29 years of experience in the nightlife industry, the Zouk brand is proud to make its debut at Resorts World Las Vegas, in a destination considered by many to be the entertainment capital of the world.”
He added that he hopes the venture will be a way to showcase Singapore’s approach to entertainment and a way of staying ahead in the scene’s competitive landscape.
